RIDES FOR APRIL 2018

All rides starts at the BP service station in Letchworth Drive Edgemead at 07h00 am.

Visitors are always welcome. Please introduce yourself to the ride coordinator at the start and please make sure that you are carrying ICE information or pass that information on to the ride coordinator before the start. Please note that as a club we obey traffic rules and regulations and expect our visitors to do the same.

Bunch Safety
Obey traffic signals – red lights
Ride inside the yellow line
Single file on narrow roads
Point out objects in the road

Bunch Etiquette
Blow your nose at the back of the bunch
Don’t attack – training rides are just that – training rides
Don’t half bike
Be punctual

Visitors are always welcome. Saturday rides are slower and easier so beginners are welcome. Sundays are not for the fainthearted or unfit!

Details – from the BP we follow Bosmansdam into Plattekloof and follow the road over the N1 into McIntyre at the circle left and from there we follow our usual route to Bottelary left onto the R304 left at the 4way Fruitsellers intersection where we regroup at the top of the hill before passing Fesantekraal we return to the BP via Wellington and Tiekie +- 80km there will be a shorter route option for the social riders

Details – from the BP via the coastal route through Melkbos and Duynefontein to Atlantis after 1lap we return to the BP via the Westcoast road +- 90km

 Special Notes

– Congrats and well done to our members who took part in the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon (OMTOM)

– I can’t stress enough the importance of staying inside the yellow line we received e-mails from unhappy motorists please wear you’re club kit on our Saturday rides so motorists can see we a cycling club who adhere to the rules of the road not a bunch of hooligans wearing different coloured jerseys with a flagrant disregard to the rules of the road

– Steven Wood is still recovering in hospital and we hope his soon home with his family
