RIDES FOR SEPTEMBER 2018

All rides starts at the BP service station in Letchworth Drive Edgemead at 07h00 am.

Visitors are always welcome. Please introduce yourself to the ride coordinator at the start and please make sure that you are carrying ICE information or pass that information on to the ride coordinator before the start. Please note that as a club we obey traffic rules and regulations and expect our visitors to do the same. First time visitors are required to sign an indemnity form.

Blow your nose at the back of the bunch
Don’t attack – training rides are just that – training rides
Don’t half bike
Be punctual

Visitors are always welcome. Saturday rides are slower and easier so beginners are welcome. Sundays are not for the fainthearted or unfit!

Details – from the BP over Tiekie through Durbanville down Wellington left at the Silos and from there we follow the directions to Malmesbury after a coffee stop and group photo we return to the BP the same way +- 130km

Details – from the BP over Tiekie through Durbanville down Wellington till the Silos after regrouping we return to the BP the same way +- 70km Social riders will follow the same route for 30km and return to the BP the same way +- 60km

Description07h00 Duynefontein
Details –  from the BP we first head towards Uys Krige left into Plattekloof and left into Vryburger right into Bosmansdam through Century City to Lagoon beach from there we take the bike path to Dolphin beach after turning left we follow the coastal road to Melkbos through Duynefontein and return to the BP the same way of the bike path and Century City to the BP +- 80km

Description06h30 Chapman’s peak
Details –  from the BP through Century to Marine drive and the N1 through the Waterfront to Llandudno and Chappies we return to the BP the same way +- 90km 

Description – Club ride 07h00 Llandudno
Details –  from the BP via Marine drive ,N1 and the Waterfront to Llandudno with the usual regrouping points before returning to the BP +- 70km

 

Notes

Monday is a public holiday and there will be a club for Social and club riders. Anyone is welcome to join any of our rides. The goal for our DC riders is to cycle 300km over the long weekend but not at race pace, most probably around 30kph on the flats. We’ll definitely regroup on our rides. The next DC training ride is on the 29th of September – the racing team is going to Langebaan +-200km leaving at 06h00, while the DC social team will head to Taal Monument 130km at 06h00. Please note that normal club rides will start at 06h30 from 29th of September.
